It’s what drives us to create skincare with a pure and vital touch, and to give back to the community where our work was born more than 20 years ago. It all started with babies and families in the NICU.
An estimated 15 million babies are born prematurely each year
And many will have life-long issues. Around the world, prematurity is the number one cause of death for children under the age of five.
In the US, one in every 10 women will personally experience the birth of a premature child. For even the strongest of women, it’s super hard to be a mom watching their baby struggle to survive in the NICU.
Then add to that stress the physical and emotional demands of this mom also trying to heal from a traumatic birth when she would normally be home, resting.
Not surprisingly, over half of mothers of NICU babies will suffer from debilitating PTSD, and many more will experience severe anxiety.
It is our commitment, our purpose, and our honor to do everything we can to help them.
That is why we invest in and provide free resources directly to families—educational eBooks, apps, and podcasts. We also make meaningful product and cash donations to support the efforts of powerful and engaged nonprofits, like 2020 Mom and Hand-to-Hold.
2020 Mom works in California to drive institutional change in support of maternal mental health. Their policies and protocols are inspiring similar changes nationwide. 2020 Mom brings education, sensitivity, and connection to medical organizations that are the bedrock of maternal care: the March For Moms, pairing with Postpartum Support International, establishing a California Task Force on Maternal Mental Health, and so much more.
Hand-to-Hold works in Texas to help families with a baby in the NICU—or who have lost an infant—by providing resources and one-on-one mentoring from someone who’s been there. For many new NICU mothers, there is no better comfort than the support and listening ear of someone who understands the fear, confusion, frustration, and stress of helping a too-early baby fight for life.
Both 2020 Mom and Hand-to-Hold are beacons of light and hope, leading the way for systematic changes that are rippling out across the States.
RePurpose Global: Microplastics enter our bodies and brains through the skin, causing inflammation. Because of this, plastic pollution is strongly connected with mental health problems, especially in children, like anxiety and depression. We are driven to support mental health through the use of skincare, and thus also to eliminate contributors to mental health problems, like plastic pollution in the environment.

Who knew a diaper balm could be luxurious?!
Most diaper balms I've found have been very thick and clumpy or hard to spread around. The consistency of this balm is so smooth, airy and light- it almost feels whipped. The first thing I noticed was how nicely it spreads on the skin. I used it when my little boy had redness and irritation on his bum only once and it was relieved and gone the next day.
